故事圍繞的士司機宇佐美浩二（木村拓哉 飾）展開，他每日奔波于都市間工作養家，卻因女兒的學費、的士驗車費、房屋租金等接踵而至的現實壓力而身心俱疲。某日，浩二接到一項特別的委托——接載年邁的高野堇女士（倍賞千惠子 飾）從東京柴又前往神奈川葉山的養老院。“在離開東京之前，想先到幾個想去的地方看看”，堇女士淡然請求。隨著的士駛過日本的大街小巷，陌生的兩人逐漸打開心扉，堇女士也徐徐道出自己跌宕的人生過往。這趟偶然的旅程，不僅觸動了他們的心靈，也讓二人在平凡的日子中，為彼此的人生留下難忘的美好印記。

好像一切都很糟糕

Ay?e, Ali, Mehmet and Zeynep are middle-class millennials struggling to make ends meet in Istanbul. Either still living with their parents or hardly getting by without help from their families, they are all beset by similar woes: money crunch, joblessness, social isolation. In view of the world’s horrors that Zeynep enumerates in her diary entries, these are minor problems, ‘slight disasters’, but they are all-consuming, at least to the extent of making them cry in the still of the night. 　　However, Umut Subasi’s first feature, Almost Entirely a Slight Disaster, is not a melodrama. With an appealingly light touch, it diagnoses the malaise of a generation that has run up against a dead end, one whose future prospects are indistinguishable from a game of chance. This is a world where astrology, the lottery and online personality tests compete with visa and job applications as life-shaping elements. 　　Fittingly, the film is structured around chance and coincidence, with its handful of characters encountering each other in every permutation, as though there were no world outside this small social bubble. 紅色之州
