影片講述東北“犟種”李明奇（蔣奇明 飾）和他的妻子高雅風（李雪琴 飾）如何用一輩子的時間，守護一個“飛上天”的大夢想。在生活的重壓下，這個夢想時而成為謀生的工具，時而又成為照亮絕境的唯一光芒。為了托起沉甸甸的生活，李明奇從599米的高空一躍而下，對命運做出勇敢反擊。

Ay?e, Ali, Mehmet and Zeynep are middle-class millennials struggling to make ends meet in Istanbul. Either still living with their parents or hardly getting by without help from their families, they are all beset by similar woes: money crunch, joblessness, social isolation. In view of the world’s horrors that Zeynep enumerates in her diary entries, these are minor problems, ‘slight disasters’, but they are all-consuming, at least to the extent of making them cry in the still of the night. 　　However, Umut Subasi’s first feature, Almost Entirely a Slight Disaster, is not a melodrama. With an appealingly light touch, it diagnoses the malaise of a generation that has run up against a dead end, one whose future prospects are indistinguishable from a game of chance. This is a world where astrology, the lottery and online personality tests compete with visa and job applications as life-shaping elements. 　　Fittingly, the film is structured around chance and coincidence, with its handful of characters encountering each other in every permutation, as though there were no world outside this small social bubble. 　　阿king（劉德華 飾）當年因出千被捕，事實上他是被人陷害的。出獄時他為他接風的是崇拜他已久的化骨龍（張家輝 飾），化骨龍是個終日無所事事的人，希望能跟著king有所作為。出獄后的king到處尋找已懷孕的妻子（張慧儀 飾），與當日的得力助手（張錦程 飾），　　后來King與化骨龍妹妹晴（朱茵 飾）產(chǎn)生了好感。　　King得到Rocky（吳志雄 飾）的幫助上了賭船，碰見了多年前便想交手的馬交文（高捷 飾），king想與之一決高低，卻遭到馬交文的手下省鏡（李子雄 飾）陷害，揭開了king的底細更想進一步迫害king，king又能否躲過劫數(shù)呢？

本片改編自足立紳同名小說，電影版是包括未公開場景的導演剪輯版本。年過40卻依然不受歡迎的編劇、沒有收入的廢柴丈夫·柳田豪太（風間俊介 飾），與吃軟飯一樣的丈夫和兒子一起維持生活、拒絕丈夫的邀請、還破口大罵的可怕妻子·柳田千花（MEGUMI 飾），兩人之間展開了又笑又哭的夫婦故事。
