劇情提要

　　清朝末年，歐洲足球隊海盜隊來華時和駐華外國使館聯(lián)隊進行了一場比賽。比賽引來了大批民眾和朝廷官員觀看，海盜隊獲勝后，隊長哈里為博取女友詹尼一笑，竟然用力將球踢向圍觀的群眾和朝廷官員。就在一眾外國人哈哈大笑之時，人群中竄出一名大漢，他叫周天（張豐毅 飾），他以高強的球技回敬了哈里。詹尼見此教唆哈里向中方挑戰(zhàn)，于是一場中外足球賽大戰(zhàn)在即。原來周天是一位曾留學牛津大學并曾擔任清朝翰林院編修的進步青年，他深知中、外足球水平的據(jù)，單憑一己之力很難為中國人出一口氣。于是，周天踏上了訪尋民間球俠、為國增光的道路。
